The Olympic Torch is coming to The Bay!
The Olympic Flame comes to Torbay on Sunday 20th May !!
The Olympic Flame will come within 10 miles of 95% of people in the UK, Isle of Man, Guernsey and Jersey. It will enable local communities to shine a light on the best their area has to offer – including celebrations of local culture, breathtaking landscapes and dynamic urban areas.
Carrying the Flame, 8,000 inspirational people across the UK will carry the Olympic Flame during the Torch Relay. Their personal stories will have the power to inspire millions of people watching around the world. The London 2012 Organising Committee has now started making conditional offers to those with exceptional stories
As part of the London 2012 Olympic Torch Relay Route, torchbearers will carry the Olympic Flame through Totnes, Paignton, Torquay, Shaldon and Teignmouth on Sunday 20 May 2012.

A special welcome will be hosted on behalf of the surrounding communities and residents are invited to share in the excitement the relay will bring and celebrate the achievements of the Torchbearers on day two of its historic journey.
