We are an imposing boutique Victorian villa in the heart of the beautiful quiet conservation area of Torquay, minutes on foot to the blue flag Meadfoot beach and its wonderful coastal walks, yet only a ten minute stroll into Torquay's bustling harbour and town centre. We are proud to be one of only a small handful of Torquay guest houses to have received a five star guest accommodation rating from the AA.

The Villa is set in a secluded, flower-filled garden that homes a heated swimming pool and a piping hot open-air spa. In 2006 we added a deck with teak sunloungers and a summerhouse/changing room. Brushwood screening combined with banana trees and palms that grow naturally in Torquay's climate give the garden a tropical feel.

Naturally, waffle gowns & beach towels are complimentary during your stay. In the summer our guests often choose to enjoy one of our imaginative cocktails whilst sunbathing or indulge in a cream tea.

All of our 10 luxury bedrooms are en-suite and tastefully decorated to a very high standard. All rooms have been personalised with Victorian antiques and crystal tumblers. Attention to details is uppermost in all the rooms with most having been completely refurbished with heritage wallpaper and sumptuous thick pile carpeting.

Our Regal room is the premier bedroom in the guesthouse. Furnished with exquisite 19th Century pieces, Victorian etchings and a six-foot bed. You will never forget this magical experience. For a romantic or special occasion why not try our four poster room or one of the wonderful king rooms.

Brand new luxury ensuites were added in 2006 to most rooms finished to the highest standards with deluxe toiletries from Taylors of London.

The Drawing Room is the perfect place to relax. Upon entering there is a wonderful sense of occasion with the 12 foot high ceilings, rococo style furniture, antique boudoir piano and magnificent hand-cut crystal chandelier. This does not detract from the peaceful, quiet elegance - yours to savour.

As an additional option, our guests have the opportunity to use the exclusive Hesketh's Health Club and Spa. Less than three minutes walk from the Marstan, this offers an indoor swimming pool, fully equipped gymnasium with resistance machines and free weights and tennis courts and was completely refurbished in February 2007.

A fully trained and experienced masseur is also available at the Marstan and is available by appointment - weather permitting - you may enjoy a massage by the pool or in the privacy of your own room.

For business travellers we offer complimentary wireless internet access throughout the guesthouse and an early breakfast is available on request.
