The Newburgh Guesthouse, is a friendly, exceptionally clean, home from home, non-smoking family run Guest house in Torquay. Where you are guaranteed a warm welcome, together with an excellent freshly cooked breakfast using very good quality ingredients.

This historic gem has been attracting visitors for centuries. Sir Humphrey Gilbert, who colonized Newfoundland , lived nearby at Greenaway and was a regular visitor with his half brother Sir Walter Raleigh. The famous crime writer Agatha Christie was also a regular visitor and was inspired to write her “Death on the links” here.

Built in 1861, ideally situated in the heart of the beautiful English Riviera in Torquays premier hotel b&b accommodation letting area, the Newburgh Guesthouse is located in a quiet Victorian Terrace in the Belgravia Conservation Area.

We will do our utmost to ensure that your stay with us is a pleasurable one, and we are sure that you will want to return. Why not come and stay with us, hopefully you will see why so many of our guests have returned !!

Please Note - As we are a small family run guesthouse, unfortunately we are unable to accept bookings from stags or hens, family groups welcome.

All of our Bedrooms have been redecorated during our refurbishment, with new mattresses, beds, carpet, bedding, furniture, curtains, and televisions, together with a refurbished ensuite room for your enjoyment.

You will find them clean, and comfortable. We have four double en-suite rooms, and one triple en-suite room, and one twin/king size room.

All of our guest bedrooms benefit from a remote colour television, freeview digital boxes, beverage tray, complimentary biscuits, hairdryer, alarm clock, information pack, tissues, toiletries (shower gel, shampoo and conditioner, soap, shower cap, cotton wool balls), and smoke detector.

The triple room has a tv/dvd player. Our twin room has two 2ft 6 singles that link together to make one king size bed. The guesthouse complies with all Regulations for your peace of mind and safety.

Additionally we have an iron and ironing board available for guest use. We can arrange early morning wake up calls, and newspapers too, on request.

At breakfast you can help yourself from our buffet containing-Orange/Apple juice, Cornflakes/Rice Crispies, Muesli, and a selection of yoghurts.

Following this we will provide you with a freshly cooked breakfast, a Full English with Grilled Bacon, Grilled Sausage, Grilled Tomatoes, Fried Egg, Baked Beans, and Hash Brown.

If you prefer you can pick something lighter from our menu, such as Beans on toast, Scrambled Egg on toast. Hot Brown wholemeal or White Toast will be served with a selection of Hartley's Jams, Marmalade, Honey, with Butter or Flora. We will provide a pot of Tea or a Cafetiere of coffee to accompany your breakfast.
