The Redcliffe is a privately- owned hotel with 65 bedrooms, set in 3 acres of grounds at sea level, and enjoys panoramic views across Tor Bay, from elegant Torquay on one side to the quaint fishing port of Brixham on the other.

All bedrooms are en suite with TV, Satellite, Radio, tea-making facilities, hairdryers and direct dial telephones with modem port. There are a number of inter-connecting rooms, ideal for families. Private car parking for 100 cars is available in the hotel's spacious grounds.

Built as a private residence in 1856 by Colonel Robert Smith, who served with the Royal Bengal Engineers and styled his home with a distinct Indian theme, Redcliffe Towers was converted to an hotel in 1904. Despite alterations and extensions many of the unique and unusual features remain today. Here you will find a welcoming entrance hall with it's fine carved staircase, elegant lounges with ornate ceilings and a beautiful Ballroom with a sunken maple dance-floor.

We pride ourselves on the warm and friendly atmosphere within the Hotel and our many long- serving staff ensure that standards of service remain as high today as they were 20 years ago. This consistency results in a high percentage of repeat bookings, many guests visiting for over 30 years and, of particular note, author Dick Francis every year since 1952!

There is a wide range of facilities on offer at the Redcliffe. Our luxurious indoor leisure complex offers a swimming pool, spacious Jacuzzi, steam room, sauna and solarium. A well equipped mini- gym is available for the more energetic.

In summer the Redcliffe becomes the ideal family holiday hotel. A large heated outdoor pool, putting green, play area and direct access to the beach through an underground passage keep the children occupied during the day
