There can be very few hotels in England to match the location of the Redcliffe Hotel.

Situated on a promontory dividing two sandy beaches, the Redcliffe boasts a 400 metre water frontage, at sea level, in the very centre of the outstandingly beautiful Torbay, otherwise known as 'The English Riviera'

Views of the sea and coastline, from elegant Torquay on one side to the quaint fishing port of Brixham on the other, can be enjoyed from all public rooms, many of the bedrooms and from our large sun terrace.

The building itself is totally unique. It was built as a private residence in 1856 by Colonel Robert Smith who served with the Royal Bengal Engineers and styled his home with a distinct Indian theme. 'Redcliffe Towers' was converted into an hotel in 1904 and original features still abound, creating an atmosphere of luxury and elegance from a past era.

Privately owned and managed by the Twigger family since 1979, the Redcliffe does, however, now offer every modern facility to ensure an enjoyable stay, whether for business or pleasure, short break or family summer holiday. And the traditional standards of service and the quality of meals served ensure that our customers return time and time again.

The Redcliffe offers 68 attractive bedrooms, all en suite and with TV, Satellite, Radio, Tea-making Facilities, Hairdryers and Direct Dial Telephones with Modem Port.

Although room sizes and outlooks vary, we do not grade our rooms or surcharge for sea view and balconies. Those booking early will, of course, secure the better rooms.

Families are well catered for, with several interconnecting rooms suitable for families of 4/5 and many others capable of accommodating extra beds and/or cots. The hotel also provides highchairs for use in the Restaurant and serves an early supper for younger children. (See tariff for children's reductions)

A lift serves the three main floors and we offer one room with a specially modified shower room for disabled guests.

Standing in 3 acres of award-winning gardens and with on site parking for over 100 cars, the Redcliffe offers a wide range of facilities to help you relax, unwind and go home feeling fully refreshed.

THE REDCLIFFE LEISURE CLUB offers an indoor pool, spacious Jacuzzi, steam room, sauna and solarium. Towels are provided for Hotel guests.
A well-equipped gym is available for the more energetic.

Dining in the hotel's Paris Singer Restaurant has been likened to dining aboard a luxury liner, but without any of its discomforts. The stunning sea and coastal views can be enjoyed from every table and here you will receive efficient and friendly service and excellent cuisine.

Dinner is 'silver-served' and our Table d'Hote menu offers 4 sumptuous courses plus coffee. A full A la Carte menu is also available. Breakfast is freshly cooked to order, not buffet style.

Luncheon is served in the Restaurant on Sundays only (3 courses plus coffee) and on all other days a wide selection of bar snacks are available, served in our comfortable Lounge Bar or on our large sun terrace overlooking the sea.
