The Resident Proprietors, Ian and Annette Gay are always on hand to provide you with a warm welcome and to look after your every need.

They have both travelled a great deal and Annette is fluent in Scandinavian languages, German and un petit Franglais! The atmosphere is relaxed, friendly and warm. Your comfort and enjoyment is the first priority.

Annette is from Copenhagen with a Danish and Swedish upbringing. She has brought to Trafalgar House plenty of Danish 'Hygge' (a unique Scandinavian style of warmth and cosiness).

Annette attended a Torbay Language School in 1965 then she trained and qualified as a nurse in London before returning to Copenhagen where she followed a career as a Senior Perfusionist for many years. She has a great interest in food and cooking.

Ian grew up in Torbay in a family hotel which he helped to run. He brings to Trafalgar House a combination of very traditional English atmosphere and a laid back Australian style. He has returned from Australia where he had been living and working as a Chartered Accountant for 25 years.
